I know this thread is a year old - but lots of accusations are made that aren’t always fair. To be sure there are tons of bad people and mca shops in it for a quick and dirty buck. But griping about getting 5% instead of 10 on a renewal - that was brokered out - what would anyone expect? Sour grapes and poor due diligence. And sadly our industry still has the same, outdated boiler room format and macho approach. It’s pretty sickening. The real question is... WHAT ARE THEY ASKING FOR? Sounds like they can go SBA if they have the luxury of time... and if they need something quick, maybe even a monthly payment via someone like Breakout (they go to $1MM) while they process the SBA. But the cost is much different for both (12% a year vs 1.30 factor over 12 months). The benefit would be the interest forgiveness, so that's a big win if you can get the SBA to pay it off early.
