I also wanted to tell you about our history of the leprechaun. The leprechaun has always been a symbol of luck and wealth in Ireland. In fact, many people believe that if they catch a leprechaun, he will grant them three wishes in return for his freedom.

St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated internationally on March 17th in honor of the saint’s death during the 5th century. Little is known about St Patrick other than his supposed banishment to slavery and subsequent escape back to Ireland, where he converted thousands of people to Christianity and used the three-leaf clover (or shamrock) to illustrate the Holy Trinity. The first St Patrick's Day parade was held in New York City in 1762 by Irish soldiers serving in the English military, but it wasn’t until 1903 that Ireland officially recognized this day as a national holiday. Although originally associated with religious devotion, St Patrick's Day has evolved over time into a celebration of Irish culture, complete with traditional music and dancing, parades and copious amounts of green-colored food and drink. So don your green attire, grab a pint of Guinness and get ready to celebrate St Patrick's Day! Cheers! Sláinte!
