    Using currency trading/stock trading Portfolio as Collateral

    Who would accept a trading portfolio as collateral? I have a client who's looking to borrow an amount that is equal to about 20% of his trading portfolio. Any suggestions??

    Hi CFG,

    Most of the large wealth managers would lend against a customer's portfolio.

    They only accept securities as collateral. My client trades equities & options. They weren't able to assist. Any other suggestions, fellas?

    Unless it is just high velocity day trading. In which case you own nothing but the last day/night's close.
