    I Love these posts.

$100,000 in process will generate $3900.00 on fees?

You have a merchant paying 3.9% ? I review several hundred processing statements per year,
I wish they would were paying 3.9% - I would close 100 or out 100

IMO - Someone is not teaching you correctly.

I think he's going worse case scenario with all transactions over the phone/not in person and/or all using corporate cards with a 2.32 non-qualified rate tacked on to the 1.67 discount rate, or even a rewards card rate of 1.99 added.

Nearly all Merchant Accounts should be written as Interchange + Dues + Assessments + Basis Points (Gross Profit Margin)
BP should = in the range of 35/50 - That will produce a good residual income for the agent - plus maintain the merchant processing cost 2.00 to 2.25

I have not written a tiered pricing schedule in a very long-time

As you mentioned, the Card Networks have over 150 Interchange Classifications - which a merchant does not know the breakdown
until he/she reads merchant statement at the end of the month - which most merchants never read.

Merchant's get nailed on a tiered pricing.
