Fundbox is definitely starting to show up more and more on statements. Although I have seen them countless times in statements I have yet to see a balance of more than $10-12k. Their product is based on specific invoices like a traditional factor but requires fixed weekly payments (unlike a factor) and they generally don't file UCC's. Those are all reasons why they would NOT count as a position when underwriting an MCA deal. Of course, the argument for considering them as an existing position is the weekly payments do impact cash flow in the same way an MCA weekly payment of the same amount would. I have seen some 1st position funders completely ignore them while others have required a buyout in order to fund. Regardless they have a cool product and I am curious to see if they can penetrate the market as quickly as Kabbage did. Thoughts?
