Smartbiz? Should that really be the name
I am going on 4 months on a deal with these guys. 4 months! $50k. Truly baffling. There is nothing good about this company which makes me wonder how they came up with the name.
Smartbiz, or wewanttowasteyour****ingtimebiz.
Cant believe the merchant has not bailed yet.
Just needed to vent.

I don't follow. It's taking them 4 months to fund a 50k deal? If so send it over I'll fund it in 4 hours.

You don't understand sba loans then. I fund well north of $1 million a month with them, have a great relationship with most of the relationship managers up there. If it's taking that long there certainly issues on the file, maybe you just want aware of all the problems. The reason the merchant didn't bail yet is because they're getting a single digit rate, not 35% or more

Wasn't aware this was an SBA that you were working on, thought it was a cash advance. No need to be sarcastic my man.

No reason for a SBA Express loan to take 4 months. Maybe you don't do a lot of volume with them and they're just blowing you off. Kind of hard to get excited over a $50K SBA.

I've funded quite a bit through SmartBiz and even met with them in person. I would suggest staying involved in your deal. There are a million things that can be delaying these loans, and their reps don't have a huge monetary incentive hanging on each deal. Though you don't have to be involved in a SmartBiz deal, your involvement can be the difference between a 1 month funding and a... 6 month funding. Or never funding.

Have you ever considered that someone reading your posts might feel uncomfortable with your language? I think you certainly are smart enough to express your frustration without reverting to a 16th century term.

It's true there is a wide range in funding times with smart biz- shortest I've funded was 17 days ,longest was 7.5 months. Setting proper expectations with your clients and getting them into verification quickly definitely helps the process move along.

Smartbiz is an excellent company that has funded billions in loans for hundreds of brokers and thousands of businesses.
As the former president of a Los Angeles based commercial lender where we funded hundreds of millions annually with throughput above 90% the submitting broker has a responsibility of submitting a complete package in one email. Dripping items in one email at a time is problematic.

My longest with smartbiz was about 18 months. Everything that could go wrong, did. But it funded and I got a nice commission. And I don't think it should have. You can sneak stuff by that shouldn't with smartbiz...
