Anyone else thinking it was a disgruntled client?

I don't like the fact that the shooter or shooters got away.

I've always told everyone in this industry to keep you nose clean, and you will be ok.

Nothing has been released as to the why of what happened. They have only just released the names of the 2 people shot. Mike Genovese who owned the company, and Carl Clark who was his manager. Until something is released as to what actually happened lets all have a little respect and not make guesses as to what happened when none of us have a clue.

Let's keep the speculation to a minimum. One of the two was a very active member on this forum. The police will do their jobs.

"Law enforcement sources tell NBC 4 New York two employees were counting money in the back of the Buel Avenue building when a masked man burst in and shot them in the head, killing them."

I wonder if the money was taken.

"The case has advanced quickly overnight,” NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said following the New York City Police Foundation’s annual breakfast. “We don’t believe it’s a robbery. We believe one or two of these males were purposefully targeted by the shooter.”

Damn... I'm in shock. My condolences to their families and those who knew them.

They arrested the shooter in Brooklyn

"A disgruntled former worker who believed he was owed money by the firm was suspected in the slayings, a source told The Post prior to Dennis’ arrest".

It was tax evasion that took down Capone. It will be amusing to me if this is the catalyst for the house cleaning this industry so desperately needs and not stacking, usury, or other shenanigans we all rehash over and over.

All it takes is for the aggressive AG Eric Schneiderman to get involved.

I'm sure if 75% of the 1099 reps were audited, the IRS would make a mint with all the non filings, or BS returns, off the books stuff, etc

The issue now is, it is all over the news as a terrible incident. What if this guy when caught starts squealing about what goes on behind the scenes?

As far as the media is concerned, a disgruntled employee of a loan company went back to his old job to murder his x-boss. This stuff, unfortunately, goes on. I don't think he's going to be able to squeal because he's not gonna see the light of day for a long time, and we don't know the details anyway.
