Breaking even on commissions is amazing. There was a time when it was normal to lose money on every deal upfront. The real secret to success and wealth in this business is on residuals and renewals. Living month to month is not scaleable.If you spend $3,500 and make $3,500 in upfront commissions, count that as a major win.

When I was an account rep I was happy to make no upfront commision on my deals, pitch the lowest cost product and build up a passive residual stream. You'll be very poor in the beginning but well off after a year or two and not have to stress.

While I noticed that this thread is back from the dead, I have a story. A family member of mine ran the biggest debt settlement company around and the reason for his success was singular; excellent data for his marketing. He had access to the best data around (credit driven derived from a shady arrangement) which allowed him to have the best response rates. He mailed every good record twice and then resold the data under a different business name (a marketing company) to his competitors. His marketing clients barely got by, while he made a fortune. This is an anecdote that illustrates how any amazing marketer will only have a secret sales floor, if their goal is to make money and not run an MCA industry charity.

I had a very impressive conversation today with Brett from merchant cash advance. I can tell you that they are legit and he is the real deal - for transfers. Also, I paid meridian for regular leads for my guys, local stuff. It was just reprinted junk that did not match up with what I wanted. I reported back to them with hopes they would do something about it and the practically told me to f-off by email. Unfortunate. Maybe the rep who took our money was having a bad day. Another thing - I worked with Lendini for a few weeks now. I Iike them, very much.

By the way. I would spend every penny I had on high quality direct transfer but only if you already had the business down cold and you have a very high conversion rate. If you don't then don't bother because your CPA is going to be like $900 with a direct transfer company on a normal day.

I firmly believe that the only way to produce a high quality lead is internally through your own efforts or your team, as well as through any direct referral agreements that you have with other vendors, suppliers, etc.

I believe that buying "leads" in a business that is 98% lead driven, makes no sense because if the lead was as quality as they promote, then why aren't they closing it?

So the guy has a lead that is looking for $100k with solid credit, solid cashflow, no liens, etc.? Let's say on a short term deal with premium pricing, there's $3,000 to be made on that deal. You mean to tell me instead of submitting the deal himself, the guy is going to sell that lead for $20 or $35 or $50? That makes absolutely no sense.

Maybe he isn't submitting it. Maybe he is cherry picking. I know I would be. Look at the end of the day a lead is only worth how you treat that lead to get it to become a deal. Perhaps lead brokers don't like to sell like we do.
