Question are there individuals that invest in ISO's?

if one wanted to start a successful ISO seems like there needs to be alot of capital behind it.

are there people out there who invest in ISO operations?

seems like a safer investment than the actual merchant cash advance paper. upfront commission and than after certain time frame default risk is irrelevant.

    so do people do this?

also a well funded iso seems like it has a much better chance of succeeding than a one man shop with just personal capital. do people ever group together under one roof? would make large marketing budgets more attainable and therefore improve the success of the iso

All you need is a telephone. They're pretty cheap now.

With a positive syndication record all you have to do is raise your hand.

I would take a look at your ISO? are you looking for capital? I dont think it would make sense if you were not funding 1M+ a month.
The model in credit card processing was to buyout smaller ISO's or invest for small stake to secure production. in fact there was a time Concord EFS(now first data) and IPayment(Nashville) was buying an ISO almost every weeks!
