small deals...
Lately, my guys and I are only getting these small, pesky deals. Is the pay and effort worth half of your business day? ....but can you really turn down money?

small deals...
That depends on your current business model
and how you have your infrastructure setup. If you need any assistance in getting them services and funded we may be able to help. We fund a ton of those small deals no one wants to spend time on.

I guess it depends upon your mindset and business model. We are a boutique lender and do not have the bandwidth and systems to handle a large volume of small deals, which is why we raised our minimum funding amount to $100k (which is now small to us). But I know there are others (thinking of Carl Fairbank at Breakout Capital) that thrive on small deals and do very well.

The best part about small deals is the loyalty you'll gain by being the person who funded them when they needed it and if done right you can cultivate a relationship with each client that can potentially have their business grow to the point where they qualify for larger and larger funding. The payoff for the rep may take time but is definitely worth it.

As an ISO I thrive on small deals. A majority of my deals are merchants doing less than 15K/month and I have found that by being honest with them and still eager to help they get right on top of things for me. A few hundred per deal is not a whole lot but when you can get enough going on a regular basis and you throw in a big deal the commission checks start adding up

Cresthill Capital has an entire team that ONLY focuses on underwriting smaller files "micro funding program", Please Test a few files we are now making the offers in 3 HOURS and paying Double Digit Commissions, very few stips needed for this program and we fund as soon as contracts are back!!!!!....if you have worked with us in the past a few major changes took place in the Underwriting process:
1) You should start seeing A LOT more offers on deals that would have been otherwise (in the past) outright been declined.
2) You will also see larger offer amounts on a per deal basis.
3) Less strict on NSF's
4) Will try to go out of the box and work around issues. (request to speak to an UW! they are always available as we hired half dozen new employees to support UW's).

Couldn't agree more, and here with my team at YSC if you are sending me 10 small files and closing 7 of them then you'll move up the ladder of importance way bigger than anyone sending me 50 deals a day that only close 20% of them, that's a headache in and of itself.
Love me the ISO that closes small deals!Andrew J. McDonald
