I represent a Direct Funder and a license is not required in California.
We advance on the amount of credit card sales / lock-box.

Depends on what you're doing. For merchant cash advances you don't need one, although some super -brokers and funders will require it. If you're "lending" you do need one. You can usually apply through your City Portal.
