    Wasting Marketing Cash

So this morning I hear a fairly well crafted AM radio advertisement on my way into the office for merchant cash advance, actually voiced by a D list celebrity. I called, as I tend to do, to see who's on the other end. On hold for 2 minutes and 37 seconds and then sent to a general voicemail.

This is morning drive in a major metropolitan market, must have cost quite a bit, and nobody on the other end. I wonder how many good inbounds these guys missed. Amazing how people waste money.

Cresthill has a few very large ISO's that target the Hispanic market. (We also keep hiring Bilingual staff in the UW department).

I'll tell em. But in all seriousness they are a great company and the heads over there have been working with us at YSC for a long time. Actually Isaac and one of their head guys were buddies from way back and when YSC started funding our own files he was one of the first people I got in touch with and started funding his files.

all their lines were busy because all of the brokers, funders, underwriters and lead sellers were calling them to see who they were

    Good point.

The issue with inbounds from a media buy versus a tool assisted campaign is that responses tend to be "lumpy"; you can have five guys sit there for an hour and get 2 calls, then in the next ten minutes they get 20 calls, and get overwhelmed. Hiring more people will mean just people getting paid to sit there unless you give them other phone tasks.

After 3 - 4 rings, should go to an answering machine with a clear message, call to action, follow up plan, continuance of unique selling proposition.

Yeah, I had that problem too, with AdWords, and my competitors were costing me $17.50 a click. Traced the IP's back to several big name lenders and ISOs (that I won't name here), exhausting my daily budget.

$17.50 a click is dirt cheap now for a major relevant keyword.

I know, sad isn't it? Cost of acquisition is sky high.

No, you're thinking about someone else. I'm not a lender.
