If you have appointments lined up in your sales pipeline, and/or deals lined up in your underwriting pipeline, then why not lol? For all other types of calls I would hold off until Monday.

Cold call away. While everyone else is snoozing and being lazy you have a great opportunity to catch that one guy who may be in his office pulling his hair out over how he's going to make the year end expenses.

offended ? the large corporations are busy emptying consumer bank accounts (all day today!!) while the executives of these chains are laying out on some island struggling to get out of bed to open the door for the breakfast trolley that's got to be rolled in and the only thing on there minds are why they don't have a buzzer on the bed post!!

Some merchants could be "insulted" if you called them today, but to be honest, those merchants most likely aren't interested anyway and would have been "insulted" if you called them on any other day.

I just tend to not call new prospects that I haven't spoken to prior on days like today, because most of the time they aren't at the location and you will just spend all day leaving voicemails (which isn't bad by the way) or leaving messages with staff members.

3 apps back from fresh cold calls this morning is legendary on any day. I hope you are paid well.

nobody I called was offended. I think that's something that's all in your head. Business is business and it's not a holiday it's Christmas Eve. People are still out there making moves. Huge retailers have no problem putting people to work and taking the consumers last dime until their kids wake up tomorrow morning. You think anyone is offended? No. Money is being made and that's the nature of the country we live in. When I get on the phone I don't worry about who I'm offending I'm worrying about who's problems I can solve and possibly help. In total I got 4 new applications in today on a day most people think they should not work because nobody will be there. Every merchant I spoke to was cool about it and had no worries that it was Christmas Eve. The moral of the story is, don't leave money on the table because of social norms and the status quo.

For a short time I used to think I had to chase the rabbits, work hard forget family and your life. Would hate to spend my days in a cubicle dialing for dollars.. Money is easy to come by life and family are not.Now I let the rabbits come to me..
I enjoyed a nice christmas with the family and have 10 applications in my inbox.

Whoever is offended shouldn't answer their phones. There is a very easy solution to not wanting to do business on Erev Christmas - Power down.
