Fantasy Football for Charity RETURNS
Hi guys, just an early heads up that Merchant Cash Group and I will be returning to host the 2nd annual Alternative Lending Fantasy Football League for Charity.
Sure Payment Solutions won last year and donated all $7,100 raised to the ALS Association. (Half was originally directed to the Hurricane Sandy Relief Foundation but that charity turned out to be a scam, got shut down by the Feds, and the money was fortunately returned so we could send it to somewhere else. Both halves ended up going to the ALS Association)
Some of the fanfare from last year:

12 companies ran a team and 16 companies donated. We hope to get even more press this year. The weekly standings will be posted on the homepage of www.merchantprocessingresource.com all season.
The press releases announcing the league in the beginning of the season and the release announcing the winner at the end of the season will list the name of every contributor.
We hope you'll be a part of it this year. A friendly competition for charity is a great cooperative PR builder for the industry.

I know that I am really excited for this years competition. Last year was a blast to participate in as well as getting to have a friendly competition with your fellow peers in a format that is away from the normal competition of factor rates and funding amounts. I will say that last year a lot of people decided that after the draft date they wanted to participate so I encourage all that would like to be apart of this years competition to let us know sooner than later and to keep a look out for the emails in regards to signing up.
So in addition to the charity donations MCG is going to be awarding trophies this year. We will have a trophy for the overall winner and then a trophy for the playoff winner.

And we will not forget the person who comes in dead last either....

Can't wait to get the season started

Strategic Funding Source and Business Financial Services have also expressed an interest to participate. I think this year is going to be BIG.

I take back my previous statement about contributing to the winner. We are now entering Fast Business Funding a rapidly growing funder on our platform. FBF will represent our team and receive that contribution in the league.

wow we're already up to 11 participants (possibly 12) and we haven't even emailed the teams from last year either or even put forth a real invitation to anyone yet who would probably like to do this. I can see this being broken down into multiple leagues running along side each other, kind of like massive divisions. We can really rock the PR with this if we have more than 20 businesses involved.

Hello everyone!
I just wanted to let you know that we will be sending out an email tomorrow to everyone that has indicated either to myself or Sean that they want to participate in the MCA fantasy football charity league. Right now we have 20 companies interested in participating so there will be two leagues. The email we will be sending out will have all the information you would need on participating in the league and dates regarding the draft. If you have not told us that you would like to play please try to let us know by next Friday the 16th of August as we need to get the leagues set up and the draft scheduled.
Thanks

There are 2 leagues, each consisting of 12 teams. The drafts just completed so it's now too late to enter!

Charity competition poll:
Since there are 24 teams participating in the fantasy competition, we had to create 2 leagues of twelve. For the charity competition, would people rather the total money raised be split between the charities chosen by the winners of each league? Or should it be winner take all where the tiebreaker between the champions of each league is the team that got the most points during the season? That would allow us to direct 100% of the money raised to one charity. Let me know what you guys think.
