What are the most important things to know about personal finance?
I have a stable income and some savings but want to learn about budgeting, saving, investing, managing debt, building an emergency fund, planning for retirement and improving my credit score. What practical steps can I take now to secure my financial future?

You should speak with a financial advisor who is local to your area and understands you way of life. There are so many variables, that paying for a good financial advisor expert is what can make the difference between working for the next 20 years and working until you die. Research and interview a few of them if you don't know any, and try to get a good feeling that their methods match yours, and that they're not trying to pigeonhole you into what "they" think is best, but they're guiding you to an outcome that also makes sense to you, since part of the goal is not just financial stability, but also mental stability, so you're not second-guessing yourself all of the time.
