I am finding merchants who have had EIDL defaults and paid them current in their portal. Unfortunately it seems to take forever to remove the default. Multiple calls to the SBA over months doesn't seem to work.

I have found a few solutions:

One, if you have a good SBA lender, they have a backdoor to the SBA to clear these up. I had a trucker with a $800,000 SBA approval and the lender contacted the local office and had it fixed in two days.

Recently I had a trucker contact the local SBA office and just were not able to get any traction on his issue.

I suggested he contact his local congressperson and ask for help.

Believe it or not, this worked. His Congressperson reached out to the SBA high priority processing team:
