I am learning more about MCA (new to the space) and was wondering if I could get some insight into which funders work with, and which ones do not work with, cannabis related businesses. Is it harder to obtain funding for cannabis related businesses due to the current lack of federal legislation? How do brokers work around this? And finally, if it is a nuanced issue, will it change when further regulation is passed? Thanks for the insight!

If regulations change on a federal level and cannabis products are federally legal then more funders will open up to funding this industry. My company will fund cannabis as long as it is in a state that it is legal in as well as the bank is a state chartered bank and not a federally chartered one. We will also call the bank to make sure they know what the merchant does to verify plus our normal guidelines if they qualify for funding.
