Majority of my stop payments are coming from debt consolidaters telling merchants to stop payments and shut out all communication.

Ive heard stories of merchant being told by DC's to take funds and then use them to pay the balance.

Its been bad for a while but seems to be only getting worse.

I can prepare for a merchant going bad on his own, but how do you prepare for a merchant who is being coached?

Find the root of the source, see if it's anything you can tie to a broker, you then have possible torturous interference suit you can file.

Always find the root. Fundfi is suing MCA resolve for exactly this. A client in legal sent us the info, the communication, contracts etc
We have even discovered the in the past a lead generator the broker uses to then sell it to the debt consolidator who tried to break the contract before the deal even has trouble. Unfortunately without the effort to find out how this happened, it will continue. Must find the root and sue!

They are also tied with ISO shops unfortunately. Hopefully with litigation and a costly monetary damages this behavior will deter.
I always offer a better deal to turn over the debt consolidators info. It does work and then you have your info to sue.

We will always protect our money and try to root out the garbage in the industry
