The Position
NY Finance Company that provides short-term working capital to creditworthy small businesses through the purchase of future business receivables. The Commercial Collections Specialist is responsible for contacting small business owners with overdue accounts to establish and negotiate a repayment agreement to bring their account current.
The successful candidate will perform the following activities:
• Contact merchants to resolve past due balances.
• Utilize independent judgment to analyze delinquent accounts' ability to pay and establish a repayment plan to satisfy the delinquency
• Discuss with merchants alternative solutions to help resolve their past due advance and the benefits of repaying their advance in full
• Perform creative skip tracing techniques to locate merchants
• Perform various administrative functions and document all communications with merchants related to discoveries and investigations
• Provide regular feedback to the operations team on potential trends to prevent future delinquency
• Assist in other areas of the company, as needed, to ensure service levels and business targets are exceeded
The Person
• Minimum of 1 years of successful commercial collections or related experience
• Excellent oral and written communications and probing skills
• Ability to manage multiple processes at once
• Proven ability to enthusiastically handle a dynamic work environment, multiple responsibilities and priorities
• Strong influencing, persuading, and negotiation skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and quality of work
• Proficient PC user, including experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Maintains composure under pressure and in confrontational situations
• Willingness to work flexible hours
• Ability to work within a team setting with employees at all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong understanding of dealing with business that accepted business finance.
• Previous financial services experience
• Previous Small Business Banking experience
