If your bank is wanting a SBA Guarantee, their is a credit criteria.

Be creditworthy and demonstrate a reasonable ability to repay the loan.

The actual sba does not require a credit criteria but rather a worthiness criteria. The vast majority of banks settle on a minimum fico score. however, there is no rule in the SBA 7a sop that requires they use a FICO score model, in fact, the banks I work with use a delinquency model. You can have a 550 credit score and have no delinquencies, and I have put out term sheets, loi's, etc. on borrowers with scores well in the 500s via our SBA banks. I'd highly recommend you read the SBA 7a sop it's not a fun read but well worth it as you will find tidbits like this. Every bank has the freedom to decide what borrowers are worthy of the 7a ours decided not to use a Fico model. you should also be aware that the SBA itself was designed to help borrowers who lack traditional collateral, That being said most banks will add what we call shadow rules on top of the SBA requirement and only approve deals with what they determine to be appropriate collateral. I'm currently working on a file 640 Fico, no collateral, and 6+ MCA's and we got him approved for a 5 million sba. basically, Dave before you comment "this BS" do your research.

So you are attempting to convince us that a Bank approved a $5 Million loan, for a business owner that accepted 6 MCA - has zero collateral and a FICO of 640.

One of the criteria for loan approval is the business owners operational acumen - This merchant would not meet that threshold.

BTW - I have read and continue to study SOP 5010 - Version 7

Do you want a copy of the term sheet? every bank has discretion when it comes to acumen and worthiness criteria, my banks choose to actually help people. It's not my fault that you've been working with banks that have strict shadow rules mate. feel free to send me a decline that was due to poor credit that wasn't due to delinquencies just over all score, you'll have eoi in two days and term sheet within a week.

Sure, send me the copy of the Term Sheet

One of the criteria is the business is profitable. Tell us how a business that is operating with 6 MCA's is "profitable"

    Am I eligible?
To be eligible for 7(a) loan assistance, businesses must:

    Be an operating business.
    Operate for profit.
