A new question that I just thought of. What is what is the government going to do with the money? Are they going to just get rid of it to reduce the amount of money in circulation and reduce inflation?

Unused PPP funds or funds allocated to the crisis have and will be appropriated to other areas of need. Example: Some US and State PPP unused funds have been used to help renters obtain affordable housing or stay in the current residence.

The money that is captured from fraudulent players will be put back in the pool of unused funds as the funds have already been budgeted and allocated. The agencies are looking VERY hard at all companies that obtained funding no matter what amount was obtained. There was an interesting article published around the same time as the Kabbage announcement regarding PPP forgiveness and which institutions had the highest and lowest forgiveness rates. The data is interesting.
