Indeed, many times the current executives are mandated to stay on in some form of directing or consulting role, for at least a year.

Some of the acquisitions in this space have caused executive casualties but overall, top guys seem to be sticking around to run their businesses even after acquisitions. They tend to have the relationships that the companies rely on for survival and growth. Generally speaking, it's risky to just kick that to the curb.
