why does factoring matter?

Factoring is a revolving facility. There should be no need for additional working capital unless they are expanding and need to spend capital to expand. If the goal is to raise money for expansion, then try and get an SBA on the trucks or finance the trucks. Usually margins for trucking companies are tight.
