    Question

I know there is a way to block an individual on the forum. Is there also a way to block or ignore a thread? Some threads on this forum lately are completely off the charts and wind up having nothing to do with business or helping customers. It would be great if there was a way to block or ignore them.

You had to create a whole new thread for this? LOL you're in the wrong section of the forum for that bud and you know it.

Best you just avoid the whole "Merchant Cash Advance" sub-thread, as NOTHING here has anything to do with business.

And even when it does, it doesn't.

I know what you mean, here is the issue .. i am involved in many forums related to my hobbies and i've seen forums come and then within a year or 2 no one posts and before long its done. usually the Admin gets strict wants it to stay on point puts out a long post on new rules then blocks a few members at that point... I get out my powder game timer put the full side up and sit back and watch by the time the salt falls to the bottom the forums have no more activity and is done and over.

This forum is great. When a forum is policed too hard and people have to walk on egg shells anytime they post then it loses traction. Worst thing a forum can have is a moderator who only allows what interests them individually and not a group. Admin does a nice job at stopping defamatory threads from spiraling out of control.

I am not suggesting the ADMIN delete a post because of their opinion of the post. I am suggesting there be a feature so you can block or ignore a thread much like you can a user of the forum.

Why can't you just avoid clicking on the thread? No forum has what you're asking.

Although, I agree it'd be nice to have as an option specifically for the "Activity Feed"

BUT - this is an "out of the box" software package, and only allows customization to an extent.

There are hacks for vBulletin that do exactly what you're asking - but it's custom code, and Daily Funder isn't even running the latest version let alone going to customize the code.

EDIT - you can add specific users to your ignore list, that's it. (In settings) and I wonder if by doing so, it may block the threads they create and their posts that show in activity feed.

    But, again - that's blocking a user - not a thread.

Blocking the user does not block the thread they create as you will still see the thread in the activity feed.

I once read about a gambler who tried to sue a casino from opening in his city.
