Two months ago this starlight dental guy was using a fake US Bank portal website.

Haven't seen that in a while.

Looking merchant's name up on US courts, looks like he got two funders in the same week with the scheme for approx $325k in RTR total (LOL)

LOL I remember J&J Perlman.. He was one of my first merchants that I funded when I started back in 2014. I had a decent run with him.

The guy signed more apps than he did contracts. I remember only seeing a couple of funders while it lasted

If these idiots used the time they spend stealing into actual work they probably wouldn't have to steal. What a terrible way to live.

I think the two places he hit dont always do BV on clean files.
I have seen merchants to go elaborate lengths to create amazingly real looking websites that use a shortened url and looks legit. So good they almost made it to funding before tech teams caught them well after login completed.

I could see something like this woking with a smaller credit union or something. These guys are saying they saw fake Usbank links, and i just don't think anyone would fall for this with a national bank.
Yeah, I haven’t seen it with a large bank. Funny thing is, this one guy created this fake bank site all for a $5K deal. Guess he figured no one would check

Use your own hosts file to force www.usbank.com (or any website) or tricks with your router on the DNS to redirect and be defined as the website that YOU choose!

    Window Key + R
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
    Open in any text editor
    www.usbank.com localhost

Run XAMPP (PHP for Windows) on your hard drive, pay $100-$500 on Fiverr for someone to build the look-alive website, and do a joint screen share login

if you do a screenshare you can reroute www.bankportal.com to check your server and not look outside.

This is essentially how you stop pirated software from "calling home" and checking if your software is legit. You edit hosts.ini file.

so essentially when you do a screenshare, there would be no way to tell (assuming you copied the bank website to a T) it would take a lot of work

It's examples like the above of fake bank websites created by merchants that you can never fall for the BS bloomberg articles put out of merchant's being such victims. They're much smarter than we give them credit for. Some merchant's are just out there to steal unsecured capital
