It's definitely a bit sleazy because it's a way to encourage the merchant to cut the broker out.
It's a good competitive advantage when you're able to market directly to the merchant's, but if you're doing that to ISO deals you're biting the hand that feeds you.


That said, my rule to ISO's was that if they didn't sell their fee (and it caused problems) I would tell the merchant the ISO's commission.

There are few things more frustrating than getting a call from a merchant the day after funding them -- AND having gone over the fees with them-- "Hey, my broker told me the total fees were 3%-- why did you debit another $XXX!"

IOU doesn't do that, never had it happen.

Quarterspot is the only one that shows commish paid to 3rd party from my knowledge. Never had IOU show/tell merchant commission or any other lender we have ever dealt with.
