If your funder is savy they would ask the merchant to log into there portal- verify there balance and do a verbal call with onDeck.. you try to get a payoff letter from them they have the sharpest Sales Force in the game- kiss the deal goodbye.

They may be good at protecting portfolio (rightfully so!!) but the sharpest sales teams are NOT based in NYC.... many many good ones are but the tip of the knife is not based in nyc.

As someone mentioned, the client should have a portal they can log into. Not sure if they can request one from there - but the customer can simply call in for one, or what I would do is have the merchant email them for one - customerservice@ondeck.com - they will want the loan ID # and make sure it's the merchant emailing, from the email address they have on file.

If merchant requests it there shouldn't be an issue - just tell him to NOT say another creditor is paying off. Best way is to have him say he plans to payoff today because he just got a large deposit or something

You can call... or request by Portal. Ondeck will send in a few minutes. Seriously. They give no issues sending a payoff letter!
