Can anyone share tips how they get the secretary to transfer the call to the owner?

I used to be a dick.
I need to Speak to the Owner.
Who is this?
Ryan.
Ryan, from where?
From Connecticut....
No, WHat Company?
No, Company, Ughhhhh.... Can you just put them on please? What's your name?
That usually gets them going, questioning their place/station. Theyll get the owner.

What is the call about?
I don't know you, I really don't want to put their business out there. Can I just speak to (Insert Name Here) Please.... I don't have time for this.
Of course when the Owner gets on you do a complete 180

Even when you know the game, sometimes you can be rusty or not on point certain days and will start to question if you still have the skills.. I actually ran into this problem recently and was having a hard time with gate keepers.
My approach is similar to Ryans but I let them know the company (I say miller corp instead of miller capital) and I tell them it's about the UCC file and that I know they have been getting sales calls but I need to speak to someone and it is important.
Definitely question the person you are on the phone with, and try different things. Ask for the owners cell, or another # where he can be reached.
Even if they say is this about funding, don't disclose anything until you know it is the person in charge.

Pro-tip. Refer to yourself as "special agent [last name]".

I wrote the book on how to get past the GateKeeper but all jokes aside if your generally just shooting to the mass try to go after the business that don't have a gatekeeper. for instance liquor stores is one of the highest chance business that the owner will pick up ...(restaurants owner almost never the one that picks up) Florist also has a very high chance owner will pick up .... local movers will also be the owner. I have a much larger list in my head ...small town usa is also much easier to get owner on the phone....call a construction firm in Mississippi and ask for Mr. Johnson and you'll probably get transferred in Brooklyn NY NEVER!
Now if your going store to store (not in metro city) make a nice letter with a business card explaining your services and go on amazon and buy for a great price a few hundred legal large yellow envelops with the red string that closes the letter and walk inside and say this is for your boss and walk out ...95% chance that letter goes right to the president...if he needs capital you'll get the call if hes cash stuffed you wont ! either way he will see it !Last edited by mcaguru; 05-23-2019 at 11:31 AM.

A lot of good stuff here all around. There are several ways that work well to get past the gatekeeper, here is a technique that is hopefully helpful:
Dial
Ring
Other end picks up.
You: "Hi, this is (your first name) with (your company name minus the capital/funding). Can you please put me through to (merchant's first name)?"
Gatekeeper: "What is this call regarding?"
Y: "This is (your first name) with (your company name minus the capital/funding), calling about his pending account with us. Could you please put me through?"
Respectfully stress your name and your company name again with your tonality to insinuate she should know who she's speaking with.
G: "Is he expecting your call?"
Y: "He should be. What was your name again?"
G: "(Gatekeeper's first name), I'll see if he's available.
Y: "Great, thanks, let him know its me."
Hope this helps! Have a nice holiday.

Thats actually pretty good.
They key is to be the dominant one. Ive gone lighter and then hard full throttle, but this gate keeper is no one (unless its a spouse then u hit speedbumps with this method) Who are they? Whats your name? How dare they keep you from speaking to the owner.... is the feeling you throw off.
