Step 1: Politicians complain about expensive money.
Step 2: Expensive money stops.
Step 3: Politicians complain about discrimination, say banks have to lend to people who are getting declined.
Step 4: Banks lose money.
Step 5: ???

There is probably enough political pressure these days (especially with eh abusive COJ bonanza that has been all the rage) that you will see restrictions (more than likely on the state level, not Federal). Everything will tighten up for a bit.....then in a few years, probably when a new administration is in place and our short attention span leaders have forgotten about all of this, you will see alternative lending open up again...Those who can survive the storm will come out better and stronger. The others? Karma is a nasty *****
Thus the cycle of life will continue....

Notice Wendy Brown is NOT a Business Owner - the article is self-promotion for her "Opportunity Fund"
Gwendy Brown is vice president of research and policy at Opportunity Fund, one of the nation’s leading nonprofit small business lenders
BTW - who provides the funds to the "Opportunity Fund" that doesn't require them to make a profit.Dave Lambert, Business Development

first you have the bbb which helps rate business so merchant can know with to work with and you guys are a c plus . It is nice way to advertise yourself as better than all but first work on getting some positive reviews from the stories of the people you helped from "predatory lending".Next if you want to compete in the mca space why do you have such tight guidelines? why will you not give your money to someone with tax liens?
Is it true you require someone to sign before knowing the full loan terms? What are your general guidelines and paperwork required?

...basically, this article said the merchant used cash advance funding until she met Opportunity Fund. Sounds like a bridge to me.

Because our utilize the word "Lending" when you are for the most part talking to individuals
that are offering a MCA Product - which is NOT a loan.
the funder is actually purchasing a product, which is the merchants future receivables ( sales) nd
in turn advancing that merchant money today.
The funder in many instances is doing so as unsecured ( No collateral)
In the old days the merchant went to "Uncle Louie" for financing - today it is MCA CompaniesDave Lambert, Business Development
