    Applications, applications... And more applications

Theres a lot of people on this thread that have been in the industry for years.

That being said, what are some different/ creative ways to bring in applications besides for calling leads?

What are some things you know other brokers have done?

    What have you done?

    Let痴 start a productive discussion.

    Hi WallStreetFunder1,

I am a recovering investment banker now lender/factor. I have always relied on referral sources for deal flow as well as industry targeted marketing/cold calling. As an investment banker and lender, I have never asked for anyone to fill out an application until the prospect is qualified. I want to get to know the prospect's company and need to determine if I can help them or add value to their company before asking for an application. This is usually done with an initial call/meeting. Post call if I feel I can help them I will request relevant information and a completed application. Our website has a section where a prospect can contact us about funding, but only asks for general information: name, company, e-mail, phone...

The most productive method that takes ONLY time..... is to call merchants after hours and leave voice messages. Now it has to be done in a creative way, for example if you call Greg's Outdoor Furniture Mart and say your calling from American Capital and does your business need some financing your chance of getting a returned call is almost Nil (unless hes been declined by everyone and his file was not submitted to mantis and or he by a struck of luck never got pitched before) However if you called a left a voice message saying is this Greg's Furniture ? can you please call me back at xxx xxx xxxx and dont say much more the chances of getting a call back is MUCH HIGHER now if you leave that message on 100 business owners machines after hours... you should get your 20-50 returned calls the next day and should get several leads.. Happy Hunting!
