    Regulation - Top - Down

I was the one against Regulation because I didn't want to restrict funds coming into the industry from investors etc.

Now that everyone has chased investors away, and everyone is acting like we are in Sodom and Gomorrah or something similar, let's do it.

Testing for everyone. Make it as hard as the series 7 so only 3% of the people get thru, also do the background checks and make them as hard as mortgages or investments...no yes to fraud, most felonies etc.

Funders have to go thru regulation too. Net cap requirements of funds on hand.

Disclosure or transparency on files and white labels

I feel yes there are few bad eggs in this industry just like any other. I mean even with series 7, all other different licenses needed to trade stocks, equities or work on wall street trading at a legit firm, there are still super sketchy firms, ponzi scheme firms, etc etc there as well. Any time commission is the way the money is earned there will always be someone trying to make quick money regardless of industry and regardless of regulated or not.

    ^this

there are bad doctors, bad attorneys, bad cpas, bad executives running large companies, etc etc. it just appears from this forum the problem is daily in this industry. before social media forums like this, nobody really knew what was going on behind the scenes. Now, it's front and center and paints the perception of a seedy industry filled with crooks. However, there is another side to the business, but, that shadow has cast doubt with many.

also, some of the folks who were bad actors in other industries (leasing, mortgage, legal , payday loans, etc) run funding companies today. To really wash it all out, the bad actors would have to be washed out all around.

Dont think we need to go that far but so type of regulation to make the barrier to entry harder is something I am all for.
