    ISO's- Commission/Pay Question

Can some of you ISO offices share with me your typical pay structure for new inside sales reps? By new, those with B2B experience but not necessarily MCA experience.

I think it all depends on what type of shop you're running. Are you offering benefits, 401k, syndication, etc..... All that will depend on the structure.

you need to hire people who are used to working on commission and have done phone sales that require chasing down paper work at the minimum

We use our fresh recruits as telemarketers making 8 an hour for the first month with a $20 bonus for each set of docs submitted. Then the docs are transferred to our brokers who get 30% of the commission and fee's but no rights on the renewal since we pay for the telemarketers.

    ISO's- Commission/Pay Question

That depends largely on what you are providing. Are you providing Leads? Or are you handing them a list of phone numbers and a phone? Obviously if you are providing them with warm leads then the split will be less on their side. I pay my people commission only because I have found its tough to get people who will actually work...if you give them an hourly wage you will have some people who will slack and there won't be any incentive for them to produce. While you would think $10 an hour isn't enough...some will take it and complain rather than work harder to make the real money. I have done paid training but even in that situation some people will soak up the training pay and then go their own way.

    ISO's- Commission/Pay Question

I agree ERS about the slackers for hourly. We are providing both warm leads and cold call lists. Thanks for suggestions everyone.

    10% YIKES!! That's rough......

I agree with draw + 30-35%. Maybe add incentives like $500 when you surpass $100k in funding, $1000 when you hit $150k, $2000 @ $250k, etc..

Hourly wage usually attracts the slugs for whatever reason. When I started doing this about 10 months ago, the culture as far as hiring goes shocked me. I've always had to truly INTERVIEW for any job I've had. Sit in a conference room for 1.5-2 hours, meet with multiple people (HR, Sales Managers, CEOs), come back for 2nd interviews, reference check, mock pitches, etc. When you have a process you weed out the slackers and make your candidate truly invested in winning the opportunity. When something is just handed to someone they tend to take it for granted.

It seems that a lot of Marketing/Leads Generation people started out as ISOs. Maybe someone should become a Recruiter solely for the MCA world, if there isn't already.
