Can the dream of anyone "investing in a record label." There are YouTubers who are generating billions of views for their rap videos. They have no record labels backing them at all. They build a following on YouTube. Hit the studio. Film a video. They use their own talent and MONEY to get it done. Get billions of views. Millions of views translates to billions in advertising revenue. Then, they sell a bunch of merchandise to fans and some fans opt to BUY the songs off iTunes. It's a beautiful thing. Those who are looking for money to start a "rap label" are 100% sure to fail. There isn't a single instance of a strong rap label started with some investor money that didn't come from drug dealers or side hustles. Jay-Z and Co. financed their venture - put up $1M of their own cash (earned in the streets) to start Roc-A-Fella records...

If they had YouTube then, imagine where they'd be now? They would have bypassed labels completely, kept all the money and Jay-Z would likely be a billionaire vs. nipping at the heels of becoming a billionaire.
