Advice of revenue split on CC processing

Trying to negotiate a high residual with a credit card processor for clients that we switch over, any advice on decent rate to start off at in our negotiations?

Are you signing with them as an agent or a registered ISO? With CC processing, split usually depends on a few things:

    1. how much business you can bring them
    2. how much training you need
    3. how much of the boarding/service you do internally vs. having them doing it

I've seen splits anywhere from 50-90% on agent agreements. 80-100% on registered ISO programs. The other buy rates are sometimes more important than the split (transaction fees, batch fees, on file fees, etc)

Benchmark Merchant Solutions is friendly to companies here. They can hook you up with favorable terms and do a lot of the legwork in boarding accounts.

Some processors will pay you a multiple upfront based on the expected residual of the account.
