So I'm thinking that given Jacks/twitters unwillingness to cooperate with Congress that Square now has zero chance of getting a bank charter.

They aspired to be a bank. Anyone can rent a charter, so to speak. Becoming a bank was the key to differentiation, cheap capital, market growth and product development. Just like Sofi. Will be interesting.
