For kicks, I messaged this guy to get more info. First question I asked him was his definition of a "lead". His answer was a list of "prospects". I said, those ain't leads dude. You want people to cold call off of some list you got from God knows where, and you want to pay them 35% to do it? I told him I should follow that model. No grunt work, no overhead, and I keep 65% commission? I can retire!

Very funny. Seriously though is the general opinion here that "raw" cold calling business lists isnt productive?

I have nothing against cold calling. Many people do it and have great success. My problem is doing it for somebody else for him to "give" you 35%.

This guy doesn't realize he is in the "Financial community " where some brokers are going to say Yes to the cold calling then get access to his lead database then download all his leads and quit.
Or better yet....like they did to a mca competitor of mine with 40 million up the street, (who lasted 10 months ) as they gutted them from the inside out....Send the deals / leads out to someone else for higher commission or sell them.
That guy from the tv show got sent home packing too.
The only way to keep commission brokers loyal to you is thru respect and leadership ( and even that doesnt work sometimes)..or you have to have something of value..not 10 cent leads and a bs script with holes in it.
I am tired of asking " where did you get these leads from" ( and they lie if they took them from their last company)
What value do you add to the mix? Why would anyone want to do this?
( some brokers on my team had boxes of leads, some were isos that closed their offices...leads are worthless...its just data. The value that lead brokers add to the mix is to add "name", "phone numbers", "email address" on them and some trigger points that are valuable , some triggers are worthless. .I have a person on p/t salary who generates "leads" data for me...2 years.
