I actually never thought I would get to admit this But low and behold. Here's a post about it lol I had a merchant that already funded and up for renewal and during final underwriting. They sent me an email asking if my merchant is paying his child support and they believe he's behind. I have to admit, it was one of the oddest things I ever had to ask a merchant and we were texting. So his response was " are you ****ing kidding me? "My kid is 26 years old" I took a screenshot of that and send it to them. They never brought it up again and funded him. Ahaha

I had merchants who had child support on their credit reports, one from Puerto Rico, one from another state.I had to ask them how it got there, he had an ex-move back there and he told me it was paid.I believed him and showed him how to remove it ( Puerto Rico only speaks Spanish)

I received a pay off letter only in Spanish, no one speaks Spanish so they denied, one lender had a Spanish rep, denied anyway after calling Puerto Rico( not one rep speaks english). Then I told the merchant walk right into the Child support office in Florida.

** If you owe child support in Florida and a few other states you will be arrested on the spot at a traffic stop.Thats the main reason they wont fund in certain states, and seizing the assets.( not some moral highground) Arrest the owner = no payback

he walked in any way got it removed ( because it really was paid) then they wouldn't fund anyway because it was still on credit report.30 days later, removed from the credit report.FUNDED

What a nightmare. ( and the funder hung in thru it all )They have renewed twice since then and are coming up for renewal this week.
( i only continued on with the file because they were nice people and swore that it was paid and the other wasn't theirs)

*** get it removed by him by either paying it or challenging it if its an error. If its a big child support issue abandon ship. And if its really paid it will be reflected on the credit report only after disputing***

I got a psf fee lol

Strong file and behind on child support don't belong in the same sentence. Exactly what Chambo said
Second place? Set of steak knives.
