Is it possible to be banned on this site for blatant stupidity?

If not, there should at least be a thumbs down option for posts like this. After about 10 downs, the post is deemed extraneous and disappears, or at least fades where it can only be viewed by clicking on it. The quality responses on any given post will then take precedent, improving the quality of every thread.
