Hey anyone ever have a similar situation with chase bank merchant. got a r08 for payment 4/30 however merchant claims he has no clue what happen and did login and payment came clearly came out

That's the stop payment code but I'm sure you already knew that. Chase might've done it as fraud protection possibly. He should talk to customer service. He'd get his answer in like 20 minutes.

with some accounts the merchant has to authorize the daily/weekly payments online with chase or manually approve them each day otherwise chase will block for fraud protection but if you're saying the payment came out thats just weird

Some people have Positive pay, the debit amount and the name of the funder pulling has to be put on an approval list and then every time they want to debit , it needs to be okayed separately,
if the payment is daily then positive pay will look for 5 approvals.

The other reason it happens if the bank suspects fraud.

Having heard this story a dozen times over the past 3 years at GoACH, I can tell you that in 9/10 times the merchant initiated the block because they needed a day or two without payments.....
