It is very deal dependent but id say average funding time is 4 hours. We have funded deals in under 2 hours from start to finish but the main holdup most times is lack of merchant responsiveness and the level of difficulty in retrieving closing stips if they aren't sent with the contract request.

Clean files can be quick, originations with no positions and ownership issues can delay the process.

As well, it depends on response times from Brokers AND Merchants.

There are MANY scenarios that can delay the process. I've seen files done in minutes and I have seen files take days. All depends on the MANY senarios that can come into play.

A lot of variables in play so it varies. Average time from offer to funded for me would be around 2-3 business days. I see a lot of deals sized on the larger size for the most part so gathering stips takes a bit of time and merchant has to crunch numbers or weigh options.

I've had deals close in an hour from offer coming out to taking over 30 days. Just depends.

3 to 5 business days is industry average.

There are shops that fund in an hour, those are usually C to D paper and those are usually smaller amounts (but not always) $2995 to $50,000.

Bigger deals usually require site inspections and (or appraisals), and more thorough underwriting (A to B paper) because the terms are longer/capital exposure is higher.

The merchant typically has to have great urgency, and have the time to get you everything you need (many merchants are running operations themselves).

They also have to understand and be comfortable with paying a higher rate, so they won't take a week to "ponder" the offer, or look for "better" options that they won't qualify for.

Merchants who took alternative funding previously, close much faster.

Once contract is signed and all stips are in how long does it usually take for an underwriter to reach out for bank login and then for funding call?

In a perfect world, we could use the following.

With a detailed app containing all the important information with applicable PDF statements that are not scanned, we could use some form of system that can auto generate the bank analysis, run credit, decision logic or plaid verification, AND intergrade with Court searches and Data merch searches all in one shot. This could streamline files more accordingly. (Again, this is wishful thinking IMO unless someone can pull this off)

In regards to background I would prefer that to be manually retrieved to avoid accessing duplicate or same name information that can provide inaccuracies.
