    Headsets

What's the preferred headset you have for your calling centers?
I'm specifically asking about soft phones, both wireless and wired options, but all information about the handsfree headsets for regular VOIP phones are also interesting to hear. Shoot away with recommendations

I've had my reps using the following for years and have always been a solid option for the price:

    https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-981-...s%2C290&sr=8-8

    or

    https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Blue...%2C290&sr=8-12

Both are wireless USB options that have a solid range.

I used these for all my people....they had a 50% off deal awhile back. Very clear and lots of range.

I personally use the PLANTRONICS 86507-01 W745 SAVI 3 IN 1. It can connect to my cell phone via Bluetooth, to my softphone on my computer via USB, & to my physical Grandstream SIP desk phone via Plantronics APD-80 EHS Cable 87327-01. It can maintain a connection to all 3 devices with call control (meaning it can answer and end calls from the headset), and features a distinctive ring feature so you know which device a call is coming in on. It also has unlimited talk time due to coming with 2 batteries that are hot swappable. The base of the device has a compartment to store and charge the 2nd battery. If the battery dies in the middle of a call, the call is not dropped, you just swap batteries and the call is still available on in the headset. The headset is paired to the base using DECT (100 meter range). So I can walk all over our facility, with no problem with range.. I really like it, and it makes me more efficient.

I am able to mute the call via a button on the headset. But I wish I could place a call on hold via a headset button so that the caller would get hold music instead of getting silence due to muting.

Other than that I love it.

I use this 99.9% of the time with my computers voip softphone app.

For the sake of efficiency, if you will be using a headset with a softphone on your computer, make sure the headset can do "call control" with the softphone app that you will be using. Call Control is the ability for the headset to work how a bluetooth headset works with your cell phone's regular phone app. By default a headset paired to your computer will not necessarily control answering and ending the calls on a computers softphone app. The Plantronics headset I use has software that you install on your computer called Plantronics Hub that allows the headset to do Call Control over the softphone app.

For Instance the H600 & H800 Adam2326 mentioned does not support computer softphone call control. But the Sennheiser OfficeRunner headset OlderGuy mention does support call control (if using a supported softphone app) via the Sennheiser HeadSetup software that you would install on the computer.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I have a lot of experience with VOIP provisioning, integration, & deployment.
