Vote to have Datamerch add a search value by biz & merch name - not just EIN

I can't imagine they haven't gotten this request many times, which makes me wonder why it hasn't been implemented.

However, searching by EIN is not completely effective.

The goal here is to get a vote for them to implement search functions by Biz name(s) (legal & DBA) and Merchant name(s).

    Yay / nay?

    Try searching THAT one up.

Tell me when you get to 100… plus there other businesses with the same name. How would the search handle duplicate name returns?

How would people know which company is the real offending company, and then not get sued putting up the wrong one?

I agree 100%. These merchants get smart to DataMerch and shifty brokers coach them to put a different EIN on the application to avoid detection. It would be even better if we could go by SSN but I can understand DataMerch doesn't want to have a liability of that many people's SSN's stored on their servers.

Datamerch is flawed to begin with.....

There are good merchants tagged for 1 bounced payment in an effort to steer other funders away and keep them in house all to themselves...

funders who decline for any datamerch tag alone are insane IMO

I had the Idea to make a Datamerch system on a Blockchain, a consensus blockchain, where if someone wants to add a record it has to be approved by 2 other "Nodes" or users who add records. So basically they would need to verify it twice to get added.

There would be a credit system to incentivize participation, blah blah blah.

In my head its a much better system

In my experience with Datamerch, I need to have most entries reviewed further. Especially ones with funders who quickly flag default on them. However, they indeed paid them off and even give them paid off letters.

Granted, users need to be more responsible with their entries and when reviewing it helps to double check the validity of the entry.

It could help you avoid sending files that are a waste of time IMO.

Agreed. business and merchant names in addition to EIN would make datamerch much better. But presumably, datamerch doesn't want to add this feature for fear of greater liability-
