They are compensated by how much they save the merchant, so it is in their best interest to lowball you to no end. If you deal with this settlement company, there is a good chance you will get back pennies on the dollar.

To add on, they are also extremely slow and have very bad communication.

Dealt with a few of these before you're better off filing and paying your lawyer the 25 - 30%, then negotiating with these bottom feeders they run you around for months and offer a ridiculous settlement the debt shop makes more on the fees then you get on the payback.
