Art, take a look at my website, abfunders.com, at my video why you may want a loan broker
    https://youtu.be/CyQ4XCk72YQ

Keep in mind that funders in-house have employees on the sales side and while they may try to compete with the brokers, because they're "DIRECT" they will claim that they'll give you the best deal.... but that's just being a broker in disguise and you'll probably end up with the same rates. As long as the brokers don't charge you any sort of "PSF" or fee agreement, and you can easily go elsewhere without the fee agreement, but you won't save much on the rates unless you put brokers up against each other and make them compete for your business.

Where is the garage door service located? Do they have any MCA history?

If you qualify for a MCA (merchant cash advance) loan, the lender pays the broker and the broker can shop lenders for the best deal. You are misguided in your request there.
If your Fico is below 700 you won't qualify for a personal loan.
If you own your trucks you can get a loan against your equipment - usually 3 - 5 years at around 19%.
If you own any investment property or commercial property you can get a hard money loan at around 12% interest only.

If you work with a lender the sales agent there will still put fees into the rate to make money. Find a reputable broker I suggest calling John celifarco on this forum as he is experienced. Westcoast is also a good resource.

    As is Micah.

Consider leveraging your credit card receipts for a MCA. - Funding would be in the 50% to 60%
range of your average monthly credit card receipts.

If the poster stated that they wish to work directly with sources of capital and not brokers, why even bother to respond.

To provide the merchant options, that they may not have been aware. I don't sign the checks, but all applications go thru me.

But he clearly stated he does not want to work with brokers. That being said, why bother.

My time - I'm assuming you would suggest he walk into a bank for a $5K or even a $20K Loan.

I'm sure all the executives at the "direct funders" are just sitting there monitoring the forums and emailing this guy begging for his application, meanwhile his business is crumbling but he won't pay anyone a "fee" to help save it.
