Does anyone have ideas for best industries to cold call?
I have been cold calling for the last few months and it has been a tough road so far. Does it matter which industry to be calling on? I know restaurants are good but it seems like they are getting bombarded on a daily basis. Any suggestions?

If you are cold calling industries really isnt going to matter much in my opinion. It is just gonna come down to how many dials you make.

In my humble opinion, cold calling is a colossal waste of time. It worked a long time ago, but there are a finite number of businesses out there that fit the mold for our product, and they are hammered everyday by thousands of ISO's. When a merchant says they get 2-3 calls a day for business loans, I believe them. No matter how you slice it, a list of numbers and a business phone with unlimited long distance, is super cheap. People can get started in this business for virtually free with no licensing or education, hop on the phone and deliver the same message you are. The banks will take submissions from anyone with a heartbeat and an email address.
Time to put down the yellow pages and think outside the box...

You could also cold call business that have never had a cash advance. Those businesses are pretty much untouched.

Rob, respectfully, there are no businesses out there that are "untouched". While it is true many of them don't know about or understand the mechanics or benefits of an MCA or ACH loan, they have all heard the "Hi, my name is _____ from ______. We provide working capital loans. Do you need money?" pitch at least a few times a week. The trick is getting them to listen to you, an a generic cold pitch or a robo press 1 ain't cutting it these days.
Someone mentioned something about networking and referrals...seems like a good place to start.

I was reffering to a UCC list vs a business list of business that have never had an advance. Businesses on a UCC list get called a lot about cash advances. A business list of businesses that have not had an advance before do not get called about cash advances as much or at all. But it seems the users of UCC lists do not ever want to put in the extra work in cold calling business and introducing them to a cash advance.
We can put together a lists of businesses how have not had an advance and who would be more likely to pick up the phone and talk to you. We actually call and phone verify every business in our database and code each record on how far the call went. This then comes useful when creating a list.

I thought the previous post was going to be the only post on these?
Just giving you a hard time.
This will be the ONLY post made regarding these leads. I currently have 2 types of leads available: 1. 3-9 months (10k min monthly volumes) 2. 9-12 months (10k min monthly volumes) All leads have current contact information. Some come with SS, DOB and monthly volume projections, some with last funded info. The newer leads are starting at $5.00 per lead and max at $10.00 if you want the information regarding the last funded amount included and exclusivity. The aged leads are just $3.00 per lead. Conversion rate for these leads border 15-18%. I provide lead replacement for ANY outdated or bad information. I have attached samples of the $10.00 leads(sold exclusively to you and no one else). Please let me know if I can help solve the problem at hand. Thank you! John Koutoufaris Countrie Eatery (302) 674-8310 (302) 674-8310 (301) 674-1807 none 950 N. I am glad that you fine gentlemen have provided this new ISO the lists of top-funded industries. As a matter of fact, those lists are invaluable.
...But you really think those are the best industries to cold call?
I see on one of these lists, physician's offices. Tell me, how many times have you cold-called a physician's office and got a doctor on the phone? Even the best salespeople are rarely going to get past that gatekeeper.
But Zach, you must be wrong. If those are the top-funded lists, then CLEARLY they must be prime cold-calling targets!
Ahem... Aside from pounding UCC's, how do you think people are coming across their leads? There is direct mail, SEO, radio, TV, press 1's, cold-calling, and a myriad of other sources.
Cold-calling needs to be targeted with the proper message and campaign, ideally to a relatively untouched niche. Perhaps calling greeting card stores/novelty shops before the holiday rush. Perhaps calling screen-printing companies during different sports seasons. Imagine calling the guys printing basketball jerseys right before basketball season with a pitch geared SPECIFICALLY for them...
"Mr. Prospect, we provide an influx of cash to businesses that are going into their busy season for inventory, marketing, and payroll. We understand you are about to go into that busy season, and I wanted to ask you flat out: what could you do with an extra $30,000 RIGHT NOW?"
Sure.... cold call the top 25 industries... play that game. Get a powerdialer and dial UCC's. Be another cog in the machine.
Or maybe....just maybe.... you can rise above and get creative with it.
(despite my ramblings, at the end of the day it is all about conversion rates, scalability, and cost-per-acquisition. If you are calling the top 25 and have a great ROI, then hell, more power to you)Zachary Ramirez – CEO

Great post Zach. Again, you are talking about sales. Companies like (I'll change names to protect the guilty) Zalboa Zapital and Zapital Zilliance, will hire the hobo on the corner to dial out of the yellow pages as long as he can do 300+ dials and 3+ hours of 'talk time' (aka sitting on an automated voice prompt system) per day. I'll go out on a limb and say 70% of people contacting business owners for this product have no sales skill and even less personality. The tactical plans you lay out are great, but only the small minority will know how to actually put them into play.

Does anyone have ideas for best industries to cold call?
LOL... I used to work for one of those companies. Check my LinkedIn to see which. But yeah, you are correct that it would actually take skill to implement something like what I wrote. It's a shame that so much time is spent grilling your employees for calls and talk time, rather than having weekly sales training sessions.....
I used to know this guy who would cold-call only low revenue trucking companies out of the yellow pages. He made about 70-80 calls per day, and he got about 4-5 apps EVERY DAY. This was equipment leasing, so those low-rev trucking companies could actually produce a fair amount of GM.
Imagine a sales manager who made each rep pick 3 industries to call on, and then measured the metrics for those. Based on conversion rates, they provide data for the best converting data for EACH INDIVIDUAL rep. They could help each rep craft their pitch and find their niche... I just don't understand why people aren't doing things like this. It's not even time consuming once you set up the reporting.Zachary Ramirez – CEO

Just like the NFL, sales organizations are a copy-cat league.
Some of the most successful MCA marketing campaigns I've seen are the ones that target off-the-beaten-path business owners.
Here's a clue:
We provide non-traditional loans why aren't you contacting non-traditional industries?
