how do merchants know who's pulling with all these alias names? Couldn't they just call their bank and say unauthorized pulls ?

generally the legal purchaser of the receivables on the agreement is the one who debits, and there should be an ach authorization form within the agreement stating who will debit.

the logo could have one company name, but you need to read the first page of who is actually purchasing the receivables.

the merchants usually don't read the contract - probably why more than half of them think they're "loans" to begin with.
