It means nothing. Some seem to believe that the CFPB has all these powers that crush business, but they really have such a limited mandate that has such a minuscule effect. So I don't quite get the obsession with the CFPB.

Seriously, if you ask the CFPB critics what effect it's had on lending overall, and they wont provide a coherent response.

Let's be honest: since the creation of the CFPB, commercial and industrial lending has grown to about it strongest point since the 1980s. It is not preventing access to capital.

I am not going to take this time to smash the dodd-frank act BUT its flunky.

he tried to have class action lawsuits brought to banks and financial institutions ( because he never worked in the industry and has no clue how nasty clients can be when they do not want to pay back money)

His policies made credit more expensive for people..middle-income borrowers didn't get help instead they were cut out of the home buying process

No one needs a cop on the beat picking their financial products for them

They are thinking they will have a 5 person or committee of agencies overlooking this...not one power-hungry nonfinancial lawyer guy whos biggest claim to fame before the cfpb was winning jeopardy 5 times

he tried to abuse his authority good riddance.
