I'd rather work with one of the Shark Tank guys though
What a bad deal for them. You are selling 50% of your business for $200k? This is how you pitch a MCA to customers, you would rather carry debt than sell of equity. How old were the guys?
I disagree. The owners sold off 50% of essentially nothing for 200K. This was a small ISO with a book of residuals and a portfolio of clients and no other assets. The upside potential is huge because of O'Leary's business contacts. The owners made off like bandits. Kudos to them.
how much do u think the shark IS REALLY going to take an interest? hell want his portion of profits. no contacts will be used.
I'm pretty sure that for a 200K investment he'll get personally involved.
Here's a clip of the show with just their segment:

Here is the audition pitch

great pitch
"but that will NOT happen...unless I get 50%" WOW!
This is the best lead generation strategy ever. What better way to get leads and educate potential merchants than to do it right there on Shark Tank.
A "premium" lender paid me a hefty chunk of change to help them "think outside the box" (of course those dinosaurs didn't execute - but I was paid well!) and now I just might ruse my way on to TV myself to get leads!
Well played guys... well played...
Mark Cuban highlighted government regulation as a reason he didn't pursue- that when the day comes if it does ever- they pursue the deepest pockets-
An issue many have talked about in the industry. Ill tell you though B2B is completely different from B2C as in PayDay.
Another point to add is where would business's be today if MCA wasn't around after the credit crisis. Huge amount of capital going into the system because of MCA.
MCA Funding for Biz + Job Creation = Better Economic State
I can just hear their new cash advance sales pitch:
"Hello Mr. Merchant, my name is John Doe from Total Merchant Resources. Have you ever watched the TV hit show Shark Tank? Well the owner of my company is Kevin O'Leary AKA Mr. Wonderful. How much money would you like today?"
Winning in the Shark Tank Isn’t Always Really Winning

Is it just me or did they do a really bad job of explaining what an MCA was and how it differs from a loan?
Agree that they didnt do a great job, but you can also tell there was some editing that made it look worse and more lost at time
...And now he's involved with IOU central and others. He must like our space!
