Daily Funder's Forum

Right deal. Wrong funder.

The rep couldn't believe it. The most perfect deal ever came in. Without thinking twice, he sent it off to a funder that had just approved the worst deal he had ever gotten done thinking that this one would surely be instantly approved. But instead he received a phone call.

Underwriter: What's the catch with this one?

Rep: There's no catch. It's just a perfect deal.

Underwriter: Yeah, kind of suspicious, no?

Rep: What? No it's just a perfect deal. And I need it approved today otherwise he's going to go somewhere else.

Underwriter: Uh huh. Uh huh.

:::24 hours goes by. Deal declined.:::

What happened? The rep sent an A-paper customer to a Z-paper shop and the rep cost themselves a deal in the process. Not to mention the merchant may not have gone with a Z-paper type offer if they were also shopping around at the same time. The moral of the story is to know where to send your deal and to have the right relationships in place! Happy Funding!
